Art Shop Window

F&B 2 webF&B 3 webThe starting point for this project was a length of canvas and 9 Farrow & Ball new colours – Shadow White, Drop Cloth, Worsted, Cromarty, Peignoir, Yeabridge Green, Vardo, Inchyra Blue, Salon Drab.

Artist, Catherine Baker (landscape/ abstract painter who trained at the Royal Academy Schools) put a window display together

With…

1  An old painted chair – Yeabridge Green/ Peignoir/ Shadow White

2  A picture frame – Vardo/ Inchyra Blue/ Salon Drab

3  6 slats of wood – all colours

4  Lettering signage blocks from an unoccupied old pub – Vardo/ Inchyra Blue

5  A few pears were used to add a splash of complimentary warm colour

These new colours are available now from The Art Shop. We keep in stock tester pots and emulsion, other finishes are to order, which usually takes two days. Advice given by our friendly, informed staff.

exterior 1In our Halloween window (put together by Katherine), we have a small collection of dark and chilling ghost stories, published by Seren (welsh for star). One of the most interesting independent publishing houses in Britain (based in Bridgend, Wales), Seren nurtures and publishes talented writers and poets whose outstanding quality is recognised around the world.

If you can’t get enough of this haunting time of year we suggest popping in (or phone us) to grab a copy of ‘Sing Sorrow Sorrow’, an anthology of obscure horror and supernatural tales to get anyone quivering in their boots. Mark my words.
