Thursday 10th December
Join us on Thursday evening for Late Night Christmas Shopping. Both The Art Shop and (just 2 minutes away) the Chapel will be open until 8pm, along with many other small independents in town. Lots of choice, variety and above all quality from a whole list of dynamic businesses.
At the Chapel you’ll find collections of jewellery and ceramics alongside a fantastic selection of books and magazines for adults and children – small independant publishers, Tate catalogues, Prestel colouring books (big art for little hands), Dover Coloured Fairy Tales – creative, eclectic, beautifully illustrated titles for everyone. The Chapel Kitchen will be open too serving food, wine, cider and light ales all evening.
At The Art Shop are all our specialist arts supplies, boxed gifts of art materials, bespoke pencil rolls and sketchbooks. While you are here don’t forget to go upstairs to see our mixed winter exhibition ‘A Winter Wildness’.

It is almost the last week of Cornelia O’Donovan’s wonderful exhibition ‘Telling Stories’ showing upstairs at The Art Shop.
Don’t miss this opportunity to see her stunning large canvases and handmade, hand painted, embroidered linen textiles. We have cards, wrapping and posters to buy by Cornelia too. The exhibition continues downstairs at the Chapel on Market Street, with her large linen wall hanging.
For purchase of all artwork including original pieces of jewellery and ceramics, we offer Collectorplan from The Arts Council of Wales. This interest free credit scheme allows the buyer to purchase artwork by simply paying a deposit (min 10%) and spreading the remaining payment over 10-12 months. For more information click here

For Mother’s Day chose a card, some wrappings, ribbon or twine. Make something special for the one who always loves you.
Take a Clementina Van Der Walt handled bowl, personalise with some very early spring flowers out of your garden or hedgerow e.g. a primula, celandine or fritillary (snake’s head). Ribbon and label.
We think these screen-printed notecards by Tara are exquisite!
They feature images from the book ‘The Night Life of Trees’. Each pack contains 10 cards of 4 designs printed onto black handmade paper. They are created in the Gond tribal art style from Central India.
‘In Gond belief, trees stand in the middle of life, and the spirit of many things lie in them. They are busy all day, giving shade and support and shelter and food to all. Only when night falls can they find rest for themselves, and then, under quiet dark skies, the spirits that live in them are revealed.’
Created by three of the finest living artists of the Gond tradition, these are a tribute to the majesty of trees, and to old ways of relating to the natural world.
