On Saturday 6th February at 6pm, upstairs at the Chapel, will be a private view of drawings, designs, paper costumes, masks, sets, sounds and the video performance of ‘A Winter Wildness’.
Come and meet the group of children who collaborated with 3 artists – Denni Dennis, Clare Parry-Jones and Leona Jones – over 6 afternoon creative workshops exploring light and shadow, imagination, dance and sound, culminating in a performance on the Winter Solstice.

The exhibition will continue until Saturday 13th February
Now half way through creating ‘A Winter Wildness’.
The children, aged between 4 and 10, have generated initial ideas, and are enthusiastically designing and making costumes, movements and sounds.
On 22nd December at 6.30pm, all their imaginative work will produce a magical evening performance of light, shadows and dreams celebrating the Winter Solstice… Under the guidance of 3 artists Dennis Dennis, Leona Jones and Clare Parry-Jones.

If you would like to book a ticket for the performance £6, please phone 01873 736430.
Thank you to costume designer Tamsin Thorne of IWISHIWASA (clothing accessories for children) for running our ‘Insect Wing Making’ workshop this Saturday at the Chapel. Lots of innovative, creative, industrious activity as you can see from our willing, budding would-be insects…
Firstly some drawing and painting to get ideas flowing, then these willow wing frames were covered, collaged, embellished and painted into new life!
More workshops to come from Tamsin later in the year. Keep in touch or go on our mailing list.
At long last the renovation programme is complete and we are now open downstairs at the Chapel.
Come down to our secret, wild, wonderful garden where the sun can shine all day. From here you can enter into the lower ground floor, our everyday trading space, open Tuesday-Saturday 10am-5pm. Here you’ll find old cabinets of ceramics and jewellery. There are books and magazines not widely seen, all to inspire, delight and nourish. There is also a small, delightful children’s corner.
From our kitchen eat simple, delicious food (breakfast and lunch) made everyday from our well stocked Chapel larder. There is good coffee and wine from a small French family owned vineyard.
…plus free wifi and wheelchair access.
Upstairs in the Chapel is a venue for regular workshops, events and performances and this space is available for hire.
We’ll keep you posted…
Why do we love their books? These titles are inspiring, timeless and cherishable. Corraini is an Italian publishing workshop open to international artists, illustrators, designers and educators such as the eclectic, brilliant Bruno Munari.
Alongside this wonderful selection of Corraini titles came this series of children’s posters by designer and educator, Bruno Munari, taken from his book ‘Zoo’. Only £15 each 40 x 30cm, they can be framed and would make the perfect gift for a child’s bedroom – Lion, Tiger, Birds & Elephant. All available from our online shop.
A bit about the book ‘Zoo’ – ‘An entertaining stroll among highly coloured animals. The exceptional lively pictures, unusual layout and amusing use of signposts make this original, half real, half imaginary Zoo fun for adults and children alike.’
Visit our children’s section to see our full selection of Corraini titles.
