NOW IS THE TIME… to be planning ahead for your exterior paint project – windows, doors, fencing, summer houses, out buildings, garden furniture etc.

This is natural linseed oil & pigment – it can be applied to any surface – timber, masonry & metal. Once painted wood won’t rot, iron won’t rust and plaster won’t crumble. It protects from weather and wind and the ravages of time. In Sweden there is a long tradition of painting buildings and interiors with this paint. The reason it has survived for 500 years is because it really does provide protection. Chatsworth use their highest quality Cobalt blue for all their exterior estate work. This blue will not break down and will still look just as blue in decades from now. Along with its excellent coverage, It is non-toxic, safe around children and animals.

All our staff at The Art Shop have been trained to advise you on everything from preparation, application, coverage and maintenance.

Here are just a few of the projects Oricalcum have advised on and supplied paint.

In Abergavenny their Linseed Oil Paint has already been used successfully on several renovations and exteriors – The George (opposite the Angel Hotel, Cross Street), the Angel Hotel courtyard and Castle Lodge and the former Grasshopper Pub (opposite the Post Office).

Populated with corvids, “the dark stars of the bird world,” puppets, and relics of infancy recalling the delights and fears of childhood.

Philippa’s show includes paintings, drawings, a cast of puppets with their own hand painted passport photos and small installations…. continues until 11th March.

‘Throughout March the beautiful Art Shop & Chapel in Abergavenny shows wild and wonderful paintings by the late William Brown – the Scottish-Canadian artist who worked in Wales until his untimely death in 2008 aged 54. Brown was a force of nature and his work lives on, as vigorous as ever.’ Peter Wakelin (Galleries magazine)
