Window installation of silk worm cocoons, origami moths & the exo-skeltons of cicadas…
Our newly opened exhibition ‘Carapace’ at The Art Shop is a fascinating insight into the imagination of artist, Philippa Robbins. Populated with corvids, “the dark stars of the bird world,” puppets, and relics of infancy recalling the delights and fears of childhood.
Philippa’s show includes paintings, drawings, a cast of puppets with their own hand painted passport photos and small installations…. continues until 11th March.
Images from our recently opened exhibition William Brown – ‘Dreaming Awake’.
Paintings, works on paper and original signed limited edition lino and wood block prints, all for sale, and some unseen works.
‘Throughout March the beautiful Art Shop & Chapel in Abergavenny shows wild and wonderful paintings by the late William Brown – the Scottish-Canadian artist who worked in Wales until his untimely death in 2008 aged 54. Brown was a force of nature and his work lives on, as vigorous as ever.’ Peter Wakelin (Galleries magazine)
