Helen Booth – Persephone – oil on canvas 75 x 94cm

Great news for Helen Booth, one of the two artists showing in  ‘Marks of Intent‘, who last week was selected to receive a Pollock Krasner Award for her painting. This is a very prestigious award given to her for Artistic Merit. Very few British Artists have been awarded this accolade; her paintings have now been added to a very elite list of British recipients.

Jackson Pollock and Lee Krasner are both incredibly important figures in American Abstract Expressionism. When Lee Krasner died in 1984 she stipulated that their marital estate be used to set up the Pollock Krasner Foundation. An Arts Foundation for the sole purpose of supporting talented artists both in the USA and also internationally.
