2All this week until Saturday 4th July the Chapel presents In audible: The Baroque Cello Project’ (part II). This is a free event and everyone is welcome.

A collaboration between sound artist Leona Jones, baroque cellist Siôn Dafydd Dawson, and contemporary dancer Laura Moy. An experimental multi-layered site-specific sound installation with performances centred on luthier Adam Winskill’s newly crafted baroque cello and the sounds of its making.

A unique arts project that melds the passion and excitement of highly contemporary performance with the precision and sensuality of Baroque period arts, and explores the complex relationship between sound, movement, silence and stillness.

There will be free performances on Friday 3rd July 12 noon and Saturday 4th July 12 noon and 3pm

…with additional impromptu free performances throughout the week.

7259517182016Thank you to costume designer Tamsin Thorne of IWISHIWASA (clothing accessories for children) for running our ‘Insect Wing Making’ workshop this Saturday at the Chapel. Lots of innovative, creative, industrious activity as you can see from our willing, budding would-be insects…

Firstly some drawing and painting to get ideas flowing, then these willow wing frames were covered, collaged, embellished and painted into new life!

More workshops to come from Tamsin later in the year. Keep in touch or go on our mailing list.

We are open this coming Saturday evening at the Chapel for an early summer supper in the garden if the sun is shining… Why not start the evening at our private view opening of ‘Time & Place’  by Philippa Robbins and follow it by a wonderful supper downstairs.
